Trans Power Builds on its Partnership With Enersource Corporation

Over the course of the last ten years, Trans Power has built a synergistic partnership with Enersource Corporation. As the natural evolution of that partnership matured, it brought about a joint venture company named EnerPower.

EnerPower, now the prime underground electrical contractor for Enersource, provides the installation of high voltage cable, transformers, switchgears and secondary services. The joint venture allowed Enersource to quickly realize the benefits in their dealings with Trans Power from the onset.

Enerpower’s broad range of capabilities is reflected through its past and present projects with Enersource and provided the two companies the opportunity to progressively build upon their already solid foundation. 2011 will prove to be no different as they continue to upgrade Mississauga’s electrical infrastructure.

Hydro contracts out underground work

Enersource Hydro Mississauga is contracting out its annual $3 million rebuilding program to upgrade underground electrical cables.

Enersource has signed a multi-year agreement with Trans Power Utility Contractors of Concord which will provide all of its cable rebuilds in future.

Trans Power has worked for the local utility on several individual projects in the past.

Customer service was one of the main considerations in reaching the deal, says Gunars Ceksters, Enersource’s Chief Operating Officer.

Trans Power can employ advanced technology, such as directional boring, which minimizes disruption to local streets by tunneling below surfaces. Trans Power has a track record of competitive pricing, quality work and good service, Ceksters said.

This year, new underground cables will be installed on Brandon Gate Dr. and Laddie Cres. in Malton, on Folkway Dr., Unity Gate, Taffey Cres. and Martlen Crt. in Erin Mills, Ivernia Rd. in Applewood Heights, On Molly Ave. and part of Central Pkwy. and on the southern half of Inlake Crt. and a section of Windwood Dr. in Meadowvale.
